Why the change?

You might be wondering (or maybe not), why Wyld Camellia Boutique is switching gears?

Wyld Camellia started out as a creative outlet that we wanted to do. We are stay at home moms that needed a creative outlet and hey, if it made a little cash on the side, that’s just a bonus. I, Jessica, kept having this conversation with God, that I told no one about. I prayed He would flourish our company and make it successful so we could use it for His glory. I kept feeling in the back of my head that I, in fact, was not glorifying God. But that was my prayer, “I want to use it for Your glory.”

Here we were posting stuff to the internet that had absolutely nothing to do with Him and as a matter of fact, it was the opposite. But I kept telling myself, I want to honor God.

During this time, we both loved homeschooling our children. This is where we felt God wanted us to be. For the first time we felt this was our calling as mothers. We felt at peace about this decision. Any time someone asks us any questions about homeschooling we love talking to them and answering their questions.

Wyld Camellia Boutique had a halt in the business for multiple reasons. We kept getting this uneasy feeling every time we would discuss the future of the business. We loved the people that communicated with us and loved seeing people wear the shirts and tag us on Instagram. But we absolutely hated the “modeling” aspect and being in front of the camera. And to be honest, it was a lot of pressure to stand out in an over-saturated and competitive retail space with having so much invested. Not to mention, the time it took away from our family.

My sisters and I were having conversations about starting a homeschool page and sharing tips, advice and resources. We loved this idea. We kept praying about it and this is where we decided to change routes with Wyld Camellia. Maybe we can keep making shirts here and there, which we love doing, but that’s just an add on. The core of Wyld Camellia is to help others with whatever it is we are sharing. Whether that’s resources, curriculum picks, inspiration and most importantly using it to honor God.

If you are considering or are currently homeschooling, we hope you will stick around with us. We are very excited for this next chapter God has in our story.

XOXO,

Wyld Camellia
